I realize that I am in dire need of a life update on this here blog. I've decided to get creative to (hopefully) prevent it from getting too long-winded.
Currently reading:
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
Currently listening to:
Anarbor, The Dangerous Summer, Sara Bareilles
Currently in need of:
Money, ingenuity
Currently excited about:
My new job at Whole Foods Market (It's only a seasonal job, but it will get some cash flowing into the bank & should be fun! I have orientation on Wednesday.)
Currently not excited about:
Visa difficulties for Jonty, figuring out details for upcoming holiday family visits, more job apps
Currently thinking about:
Where I'll be living/working next, starting a new project (Have you voted yet?)

I suppose that makes me all caught up! Now how about you guys?
<3
Loved the update. You've got quite alot going on then, huh? And I'm guessing you guys are wanting to stay in California?
ReplyDeleteHere's an update of my life!
Currently reading:
Unfortunately, nothing but schoolwork stuff. Any suggestions?
Currently listening to:
Slow Club, Arcade Fire, The New Pornographers, Jenn Grant, Joel Plaskett (All but the first one are all canadian...hahaha...that was unplanned)
Currently in need of:
Money (agreedx100000). My student loan sucks.
Currently excited about:
My program and how much I love it, and all the friends I'm making in my new city.
Currently not excited about:
Massive workload. But doing my best to maintain a positive attitude. When you force yourself to think happy, it really makes a difference. I adore all of your quotes on FB!
Also- (twins), not excited about visa details for Nick/myself either. As of next year we don't know if we're staying in Canada, moving to London, or trying to move to San Francisco...for our industries, California is best....thats going to be visa hell!
Currently thinking about:
HTML, photoshop, illustrator, social media, branding, typography...this program is my life. I am actually falling asleep with my macbook some nights.
Currently obsessed with:
Girl, I wish I was obsessed with exercise right now! I could use it. My obession is long hours in a dark room learning how to code websites and creating visual designs!
Currently eating:
Lots of sushi. And sweet patato. Sometimes together (ever had Yam tempura roll?...yum!)
Currently drinking:
Coffee. So much. 5 cups yesterday.

Nowhere! Haven't been anywhere since arriving in Vancouver from London almost 3 months ago! Hoping for a trip to Seattle very very soon, then Portland & California in the spring/summer!
There...now you're caught up with me too!
:)
I'm sure things will work out for you, lady, you have such a positive mindset. It really shines through and I haven't even met you, but I feel like you're a person that would always make people around her smile!
Thanks for the life update! Is Catch-22 any good? Its totally on my list.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, job searching kind of rues my entire life. And I am definitely also in need of some money. Congrats on the new job!

I think my comments are now longer than your blog post! Ooops!
Amanda: We do want to stay in California, but we're aware that that's probably not in the picture at the moment. As for reading suggestions, I have so many! What are you into? If you haven't read The Giver, that's one of my faves and is pretty short, which is good for when you're in school. I recently read Chocolat, which was pretty light & very enjoyable. And if you want dark comedy, I'd recommend Naked by David Sedaris (though to be honest I didn't finish it - I read it while in school & got too busy). And lastly, if you want easy to read & hilarious (though pretty adolescent) read Angus, Thongs, & Full-Frontal Snogging. Also, I'm glad the quotes I post touch you too. Try to enjoy the next year in Vancouver with Nick. You're lucky to have a whole year planned; don't let the blank space ahead of you affect the time you have together now.
ReplyDeleteJob Snob: Thanks! Catch-22 is pretty good. Very ironic & interesting. Though it is a bit long, considering there isn't much of a plot. But the character development is great. I think the best way to read it is in chunks, with other books in between. Good luck with the continued job hunt! I'm still there with you!
